Nutrition to improve health
The market is simply flooded with books on nutrition - a justified response to our current obsession with what we eat.
It's entirely reasonable that nutrition should be a concern for so many people - just over a century ago, you simply ate what was available, but we now have so many choices, and so many of them are bad for you, that getting a handle on what represents good nutrition can be very difficult.
The range of nutrition titles also reflects our various concerns about eating right - there are titles directed towards pregnant women, for children, for athletes, for improving the mind, and of course for weight loss.
There is no doubt that what you eat is the most crucial factor in both slimming, and maintaining a healthy weight. The problem for so many of us is that we have become used to eating food that is not exactly good for us! Whether it's packaged convenience food, take aways, or fat and sugar laden snacks, we routinely eat food that is likely to encourage weight gain, while providing little in the way of essential nutrients.
Check out the great range of books on offer, and you might find one that helps you gain a better understanding of what you eat, and how if affects you.
