Low sugar food for weight loss
Want to lose weight fast? Low sugar foods seem like the way to go - avoid the quick calories and surely the pounds will drop off? The problem is that many products marketed as low sugar foods are simply fueling your desire for something sweet while adding more chemicals to the mix.
Choosing low sugar foods is important - the junk calories in fizzy drinks, honey, cakes, biscuits, sweets and so-called fruit drinks replace good food, not only adding extra pounds to your bottom line, but also reducing your intake of essential fibre and vitamins.
The easiest way to achieve this is to replace the junk with quality low sugar foods. And be aware, there are many aliases when you're looking at food labels, including honey, fructose, high fructose corn syrup, and syrup. So get rid of the following: - Sweetened drinks: Sodas, sweet tea or coffee, sweetened fruit drinks and water.
- Cakes, biscuits, pastries, sweets, jam, honey, ice cream, sweetened desserts.
- Any breakfast cereal where sugar is one of the top three ingredients.
Replace this with:
Fresh fruit and vegetables (including tinned fruit in its own juice), lean protein (chicken, seafood, lean red meat), whole grain bread, pasta, rice and cereals, non-fat or low fat dairy, and to drink, water!
You'll not only reduce your calorie intake, but also dramatically increase the amount of vitamins, minerals and essential nutrients in your diet.
