Body for life diet

Bill Phillips' Body for Life suggests eating six meals a day, each of which includes a portion of lean protein-rich food, and a portion of an unrefined carbohydrate-rich food.

There is a list of approved foods which include:

  • "Approved" protein-rich foods: Skinless chicken or turkey breast, fish, egg whites, low-fat cottage cheese, whey protein shake, very lean ham or beef etc.
  • "Approved" carbohydrate-rich foods: Brown rice, whole grain bread, pasta, potatoes, oatmeal, fruit etc.
  • "Approved" vegetables: Spinach, tomatoes, broccoli, carrots, cabbage, mushrooms etc.

There is also an intense exercise program in Body For Life which involves weight training for 3 days/week and aerobic exercise for 3 days/week.
