Daily calorie intake

When trying to lose weight, a calorie intake calculator could make the sifference between losing those extra pounds or staying static. In essence you need to work out your daily calorific intake needs in order to maintain your current weight (Why not check our nutrition values of a range of foods).

So will our daily calorie intake calculator hepl you to lose weight and get fit? Err, no. All it will do is to show you the amount of calories that you need to comsume in order to maintain your current weight. If you increase your daily calorie intake, then you'll put weight on and vice versa.

In essence, for losing weight, you need to increase the amount of exercise you do (see our exercise section for ideas) or decrease the number of calories you consume every day.

By subtracting 500 calories from your daily intake value you will lose around 1 pound per week. This is based on the fact that one pound of fat is equal to 3500 calories, and 7 days worth of 500 calories = 3500 calories.

Use the Weight Convertor and Height Convertor if you need to convert your measurements.
